Ecoman® Bio-Nematicide deals with many plant parasitic nematodes, especially root-knot nematodes that feed on the roots of plants. The feeding process damages the plant’s root system and reduces the plant’s ability to absorb water and nutrients. Typical nematode damage symptoms include a reduction of root mass, a distortion of root structure and/or enlargement of the roots.

 

Nematode damage of the plant’s root system also provides an opportunity for other plant pathogens to invade the root and thus further weakens the plant. Nematodes can cause direct damage to plant tissues including reduced vigor,

distortion of plant parts, and even death. Plant parasitic nematodes cause severe yield losses in many crops.

 

Ecoman® Bio-Nematicide is a strain of Paecilomyces lilacinus and is available in powder formulation. It is able to colonize the eggs of phytophagous nematodes and the reproductive organs of female nematodes. It is manufactured by state-of-the-art fermentation technology and works as a nematode control agent, providing a more effective and environmentally friendly way of reducing nematode populations and root infestations in the soil, while stimulating yields.
